Husband grabbed the wrong laundry. What is the right thing to do?

Tyree Allenbrand: Hi Shara, It's not your fault that he grabbed the wrong laundry. Put up a note with your telephone number and when they should call. Tell your building manager, give them the same note in case the person comes looking for their stuff.. What about your stuff is it missing? What are you going to do about that? I think that you just need to wait and eventually that person will be looking for their clothes. Maybe they are in rehab..Bye...Show more

Travis Colomb: Write a note and leave it in the laundry room:"We here in apartment # accidentally picked up the wrong laundry on DATE. Please stop by if you are missing anything."Then I would just ask them when they show up what they lost, if they come anywhere close to what you have then just ask them what apartment they live in and hand it over. I'm suggesting you get their apartment number so that if anyone else comes to claim it you can just say:"Oh I'm sorry! but so and so in apartment # claimed it yesterday. I'm sure if you go over there they can help you."...Show more

Ronny Nowzari: Post a note in the laundry room and briefly explain that you accidentally grabbed someone else's laundry. Leave your phone #. No need to offer any money at all, I'm sure they'll just be glad to have it back.

Pasty Cobbett: Put it back down in the laundry room and leave it on the table. Its not the end of the world, and the laundry police certainly won't have a warrant for your arrest.

Arden Strachn: I would take the laundry to the office and post a note in a central area of your building (perhaps by the mailboxes?) stating that the laundry taken by accident on Saturday has been turned into the lost & found in the manager's office. You could leave the same note in the laundry room as well.I see no need to give out your phone number or have any personal contact with the laundry's owner. And no, you are not financially liable for ! anything as you did nothing to ruin the clothing. Heck, you ! aren't even the one who washed/dried it. :-)...Show more
