Can you get multiple teacher certifications?

Donnie Bolio: In the state fo Texas if you are already a certified teacher in a certain content you may just take the state exam which corresponds to what your teaching goal is....let's say high school history, you would tthen just take that exam. or if you you want to do Government, history, political science, sociology, psychology, and economics you can take a composite social studies exam 232 for Texas and you ae able to tach any of those subjects in High school. One test.

Catheryn Barringer: The difference between secondary and elementary might require you to take some more classes, but yeah you can get multiple certifications. I'm certified in K-12 special education, K-8 elementary education, and ESL. You'd have to check for sure with your state's department of education, but oftentimes the only thing you have to do to add a field is take and pass the required tests.
