Need help for command sponsorship?

Need help for command sponsorship?

answers 0:I am getting married July 6th. My fiance is stationed in Fort Richardson in Alaska. I have to get command sponsorship but I was wondering if anyone knows if I can get it started before we are married or do we have to do it after we are married? And if anyone else can give me more information. Please. Thank you.-Also I am 18 years, yes I know I am young. Please do not be rude or leave rude comments. I hear that a pap smear has to be done. I am 18, girls are really suppose to get them at 21. Would I still have to get one even though I am 18.I know a lot about the military, I am a military child. My family has not had to go through the command sponsorship so I just really need to know what is needed. Thank you....Show moreanswers 1:I'm not sure what the others are talking about...I never had to have a pap s! mear or a dental exam prior to getting command sponsorship nor has anyone I've ever known had to do this. I was never even questioned about either of these. Women should have yearly pap smears once they become sexually active just to make sure you are healthy and there are no [email protected]: All I know is that my husband joined the Army in Arizona. He went to BCT/AIT and then his first duty station was Schofield Barracks, HI. This is OCONUS. I don't know what the rules are where you are or in your branch but I do know that in AZ, when we did the command sponsorship process, I was never asked when my last pap was nor was I ever asked about my last dental exam. If there is one thing I've learned from the Army, it's this. Every office, every area has different policies and rules. Some places enforce things more than others. That is FACT. It is common sense and common knowledge that pap smears are supposed to be done yearly; whether you have issues or not. If you have issue! s, your physician may choose to do them more often. Everybody! knows that. Ask any OBGYN and they will tell you the same thing. Seriously. And thanks for the TD. Since you took it there, I gave you one in return....answers 2:He cannot start command sponsorship paperwork until you are actually his dependent, in other words married. As for the PAP, a young woman should start getting a PAP smear done when she becomes sexually active, or no later than age 21. So, since you are either already sexually active or about to be, there is no time like the present to get started having these. And yes, they are required to have done prior to gaining CS. It's no big deal and it's something you better get used to. While irregularities at this age are rare, it is better to be safe than sorry. What you can do now is get your women's health exam done and make sure your dental exam is going to be less than 6 months old a month out from now. The more you have done now, the quicker the process is.ETA: try calling the MTF again. Explain you are ge! tting married and that you need it for command sponsorship. If the appt clerk gives you grief, call the women's health specialist and she will make sure you get in to see [email protected], anytime you PCS outside of CONUS you must have a recent PAP (less than 2 years) and a recent dental (6 months). If you keep up to date with your exams it's not an issue. But, without them, you're paperwork isn't getting sent to the gaining base. Also, PAPs are every 2 years as long as you have a history of normal ones....answers 3:No, you cannot start the process until you're actually married. The EFMP documents will be given to him by his S-1, and until you're married they will not start the process. If you're a military dependent with a current ID card, then you MIGHT be able to get a doctor at your local MTF to give you the EFMP exam, but it's doubtful. Even so, it's not going to make a difference in how long it takes you to get command sponsorship! http://www.usarak.army.mil/4bd! e25th/sponsorship.ht...... answers 4:No you will not get command sponso! rship as long as he's along with his modern-day command. If he reenlists and is going to a distinctive command there's a risk which you will get command sponsorship and hence stay there back. whether it rather is as much as the command and that they are able to assert sure we can do it yet your getting right here is at your own fee. Or they are able to deny it thoroughly and say that it will would desire to be an unaccompanied excursion because of the fact he has decrease than 3 years in....answers 5:you cannot do anything until you are married.about all you can do is make sure you have a Pap smear less than a year old and a dental exam less than 6 months old. yes you need it. it would also be smart to get everything ready for a passport( although you might as well wait until you are married so you don't need to get it re issued)...answers 6:Thank you. I just really needed to know about the pap smear. I tried to have one done at a base where I live by but I couldn't beca! use I was not 21. I know other places I can look into to get one. Thank you!
