Looking to buy a car..Question about mileage?

Logan Bero: The car is 7 years old with 200,000 miles on it? That's just about 28,000 miles a year or 550 miles a week. It must have been a fleet car, salesman's car or taxi cab or had to drive a long, long way round trip to work. Look for something else. Suggested retail value is $7,360 if it is in EXCELLENT condition. The dealer will not provide a warranty, so I would not offer any more than $5,300 because of the unknowns, it history and such. If the dealer will give you a 1 year drive train warranty, then maybe $7,300. Anyone can falsify a CarFax report with a computer to make the car look good. I don't trust car dealers....Show more

Robt Heemstra: hoyl crap thats a lot of miles for a car thats only 7 years old. the average person goes 12,000 miles a year.

Javier Holsonback: If it is received complete or just about complete VW carrier historical past and has had the cambelt and water pump converted then you don't have anything to fear approximately.! . Volkwagens are famend for lasting eternally! I had a 1993 one million.three Polo three years in the past with 88,000 at the clock and it ran like a dream, and after that I had a 1997 Polo one million.four with over ninety,000 and on no account had a trouble. As lengthy as it is competently serviced and maintained then there is not any intent why it will not run good over one hundred twenty-130k! :)...Show more

Tracy Huesso: If it has been well maintained it could be in better condition than a car with 50,000 milesBeing used intensively means the car will have spent almost all of those miles fully warmed up I have regularly bought cars with 250,000 miles + because I do a high mileage and quickly destroy the value of a low-mileage carIf you are confident it has been well maintained and the price reflects the high mileage, it could be a very good vehicle - especially as nissans last very well indeed...Show more
